April 19- Suffield Historical Society presents Bill Sullivan's American Studies students from Suffield Academy who will share history about the two individuals that Oliver Phelps enslaved when he lived in Suffield's Phelps-Hatheway House and Gardens in Suffield, CT. This is a 7 p.m. hybrid event at the Suffield Senior Center and on Zoom. Students will update the Society about their Witness Stone installation ceremony for these two individuals as well as more original history about Phelps's impact on the Haudenosaunee, or "people of the longhouse," commonly referred to as Iroquois or Six Nations in New York State's Finger Lakes region where Phelps settled after living in Suffield. The mission of the Witness Stones Project is to restore the history and honor the humanity of the enslaved individuals who helped build our communities, through research, education, and civic engagement. May 21- The annual DAR Good Citizens Awards will be presented to local high school seniors. This year’s event is scheduled to be held at the Suffield Historical Society, 232 So. Main St., Suffield, at 2 p.m. Two students, one from Windsor Locks and another from Suffield, will be presented their awards and scholarship funds at this ceremony. Open to everyone!
June 10- Members only. Annual meeting followed by our Annual Tea and Show ‘n Tell. Bring one of your treasures to share its story.
June 14-American Flag Day event at Veterans Memorial Park, 118 Southwest Ave, Windsor Locks, time TBD. Proper disposal of all old flags.

2022 Was Busy- thanks to everyone who participated!
Dec. 3- Our holiday brunch. (Where did the summer go?!) All members are all invited to join together at 10:30 am at the Suffield library in The Gallery, to share some treats and coffee while we discuss our past year and what we hope to accomplish in the new.
For those who want to make it a "DAR Day", the Oliver Ellsworth Homestead at 778 Palisado Ave in Windsor, CT for their Christmas at Ellsworth holiday event. Tours of the CT DAR operated 1781 Colonial house are available 9 am to 1 pm. (For more information about the house and museum, see their website or Facebook page.)
Nov. 5- Same event as Oct. 22., just in a different location. Woodway Country Club, 540 Hoyt St., Darien, CT.
Oct. 29- A genealogy workshop will be held at the Kent Memorial Library in The Gallery 10a - 12p. The Gallery is on the lower level. You don't have to be a member- you're invited! Join us to work on your DAR application. Maybe you already know you have a Patriot and need help completing your application; maybe you need help finding your first Patriot; maybe you are an existing member and want to search for another Patriot- this your chance! Fellow DAR member Jolene Mullen, who has over 20+ years of genealogical experience will be on hand to lend her talents. Please bring a laptop if you have one as this is a hands-on workshop.
Oct. 22- Fall Forum State Regent Lisa Melland invites you to attend this CTDAR member workshop 9 am to noon.Meet other Daughters from chapters near yours and learn about the exciting plans we have for the next three years during the Melland Administration. Learn how YOUR chapter can gain new members and begin preparations for America 250! in 2026. Come, learn and engage for three hours and then get on with your Saturday; invigorated and ready to engage in our collective DAR mission of Historical Preservation, Education and Patriotism. Location: CTDAR owned Matthies Hall, 778 Palisado Avenue, Windsor.
Both the President General's Projects Sales Table and the State Regent's Projects Sales Table will be on premise. Please bring your personal check(s) or cash to make purchases. Don't forget to bring some new or gently used children's books to donate to our Literacy in Connecticut book drive to benefit the Jettie Tisdale School in Bridgeport. Our time together will end with a service project tying blankets for homeless children in shelters. This free event will only accommodate 100 guests. Oct. 21- While not our Chapter's event, you might find this interesting. Gov. Jonathan Trumbull House & Wadsworth Stable Tours.The CT DAR owned house and stables will be open 11 am - 2 pm for tours. 169 West Town St, Lebanon, CT.
Oct. 15- A cemetery tour will be given at the Old Center Cemetery in Suffield, CT, starting at 1 pm. It should last about 1-1/2 hours. Jan Peake, from the Suffield Historical Society, will share her knowledge of its history and some those interred there, including some Revolution War Patriots. Meet by the corner of First Church of Christ on High St.
Sept. 11-12- Suffield on the Green and Craft Fair. The Chapter will have a booth at the Green during this 51st Annual event. The hours are Sat. 10-5 p.m. and Sun. 11-4 p.m. We will have a collection box for dropping off American flags that need to be properly disposed of. Share the word on this! Hosted by the Suffield Knights of Columbus and the Suffield Rotary Club. (Members- please help out in the booth if you're able. Contact Judy for schedule.)

July 14- Ice Cream Social is being held at the Suffield Historical Society’s King House lawn. Ice cream and entertainment provided by the Suffield High school. Pack your picnic dinner, bring your chair, and join your neighbors.

May 30- Memorial Day parades. Suffield 9 a.m. and Windsor Locks 10 a.m. Members of our Chapter will participate in the Suffield parade.

May 21- The Sibbil Dwight Kent Chapter (Suffield and Windsor Locks) of The Daughters of The American Revolution (DAR) and the Suffield Historical Society will partner to install a Witness Stone Memorial for Titus Kent in front of the Sidney Kent Legare Library (Suffield Academy) on High Street at 10 a.m.
